Gruter Tajo Gains 15~50% Performance Increase Running
with Oracle Big Data Appliance
January, 21, 2016 – Gruter today announced it has earned Oracle Big Data Appliance Optimized status through Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), demonstrating that Gruter Tajo 0.11.0 has been tested and tuned on Oracle Big Data Appliance to deliver speed, scalability and reliability to customers.
Gruter Tajo version 0.11.0 is a scalable, cost-efficient SQL-on-Hadoop system for enterprise data warehousing. Optimized for running interactive queries and complex extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) jobs on massive data sets, Tajo brings extensive native SQL support and advanced database query techniques to the big data processing challenge.
Tajo on Oracle Big Data Appliance showed 15~50% performance advantage over a DIY cluster, bringing better data subledger accounting (SLA) for big data analysis. The pre-tuned and optimized Tajo configuration for Oracle Big Data Appliance provides enterprise users with faster and easier deployment option for a big data analysis platform.
“Gruter Tajo is a rising SQL-on-Hadoop technology for easier and faster big data analysis with standard SQL,” said Young-kil Kwon, Gruter CEO. “The powerful combination of Tajo and Oracle Big Data Appliance brings a massively-scalable and cost-efficient alternative for enterprise big data warehousing.”
Oracle Big Data Appliance is an engineered system that delivers comprehensive and secure big data capabilities and is integrated, optimized, and tuned to shorten deployment times and reduce cost and risk.
By achieving Oracle Big Data Appliance Optimized status, Oracle recognizes Gruter for developing, testing and tuning Gruter Tajo 0.11.0 on Oracle Big Data Appliance. This accomplishment is a testament to Gruter’s ability to deliver the extreme performance and reliability customers require.
“Oracle Exastack Optimized recognizes partners who have optimized their solutions on a complete, integrated and cloud-ready infrastructure in order to help them accelerate innovation, unlock new features and functionality, and deliver superior value to users,” said David Hicks, Vice President, Worldwide ISV, OEM and Java Business Development, Oracle. “By achieving Oracle Big Data Appliance Optimized status, Gruter has demonstrated its Gruter Tajo version 0.11.0 is tested and tuned to work with Oracle Big Data Appliance to help deliver optimum performance, scalability, and reliability to their customers.”
